Tracks

Official trail networks

Easiest/Easy Intermediate Advanced Expert Not graded

open closed · park agencies' own tracks and grades; closures as of the date in each popup.

Community routes

Volunteer-mapped routes, like Te Araroa. No official grade or time.

Connecting paths

Unmarked paths, and farm tracks, that join the routes.

Cleaning stations

Published stations only. Clean your tyres and shoes at every protected forest.

Tap a track for details. No line on the map does not mean no track.

Camping & Shelters

Shelters & refuges Campsites

Backcountry shelters, refuges and campsites — agency-charted where an agency publishes them (New Zealand: DOC, CC BY 4.0), community-mapped from OpenStreetMap (ODbL) worldwide. Tap a site for details — fees, booking and facilities appear only where the source records them; a blank field is unknown, not "none".

Holiday Parks NZ Free / Basic Camping NZ

Holiday parks and free/basic camping are New Zealand datasets — outside NZ, commercial sites appear under the live rows below.

Campsites (live OSM) Hostels Cabins & Chalets Alpine Shelters & Refuges Guesthouses & B&Bs Hotels & Motels Picnic Sites

Live rows stream from OpenStreetMap for the map view you're looking at, anywhere in the world (online only). One marker per site — a live pin never doubles a charted one.

Water, Toilets & Supplies

Springs & Wells Toilets Shops & Supermarkets Fords & River Crossings Hospitals & Clinics

Live from OpenStreetMap for the map view, online only. A spring or well is safe to drink only where its card says so; treat anything else. A blank map means nothing is mapped here, not that nothing is there.

Worth a Stop

Viewpoints Waterfalls Hot Springs Natural Wonders Summits Caves Lookout Towers Shelters Drinking Water

Shelters and drinking water are community-mapped points worldwide (OpenStreetMap, ODbL), plus a curated New Zealand set.
